Poonch, May 8, : An unexploded shell was recovered on Thursday morning in the Dakhi area of Mendhar sector in Poonch district, officials said.
Local residents spotted the shell amidst continued shelling from across the Line of Control and immediately alerted the police. A team of police personnel along with security forces swiftly reached the site to assess the situation.
Bomb disposal experts have been called in, and efforts are underway to safely defuse the shell. Authorities have cordoned off the area as a precautionary measure.
