Srinagar May 22 : JKBOSE Summer Vacation 2025: In response to the ongoing heatwave across Kashmir, the government is actively considering a change in school timings & indicated the possibility of announcing a brief summer vacation to protect students from rising temperatures.
The move follows a series of advisories issued by district administrations urging precautionary measures to mitigate heat-related health risks.
โWeโve received suggestions from various stakeholders regarding a shift in school timings.
Iโve discussed the matter with the Director of School Education Kashmir and asked him to prepare a suitable plan,โ he said, adding that a decision is expected within the next couple of days.

Shantmanu also indicated the possibility of announcing a brief summer vacation if the heatwave continues.
โWhile nothing has been decided yet, weโre exploring all options to ensure studentsโ safety,โ he said.
In the meantime, schools may be advised to suspend outdoor morning assemblies as a temporary measure once revised timings are implemented.
