Sopore Police Arrest Drug Peddler, Recover Charas in Routine Check

In yet another action against the drug menace, Sopore Police today arrested a drug peddler during a routine naka checking operation at Chinar Crossing, Warpora.
The accused, identified as Ghulam Hassan Dar, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar, resident of Mohalla Teliyan Arampora, Sopore, attempted to flee upon spotting the police party. However, the alert personnel acted swiftly and apprehended him tactfully. A search led to the recovery of charas-like substance from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 90/2025 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation is underway to trace the source and wider network involved.
