*Anantnag Police Seize Three Tractors Carrying Illegally Extracted Mining Material*
Anantnag, August 17, 2026:Continuing its strict action against illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals, Anantnag Police seized three tractors carrying illegally extracted mining material during patrolling at Mattigund, Chittergul.
The intercepted tractors, bearing registration numbers JK03A-7973, JK03Q-3136 and JK03Q-2867, were found loaded with illegally extracted bajri and boulders. The drivers failed to produce any valid documents authorising the extraction or transportation of the mining material.
The seized tractors and the drivers have been taken into custody as per law. In this connection, FIR No. 83/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at the concerned Police Station, and further investigation has been initiated.
Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to curbing illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals and warns that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
