*SCW Kashmir searches Safakadal house in police appointment forgery case*

Srinagar, Aug 21 : The Special Crime Wing (SCW) Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K on Friday conducted a search at a residential house in Safakadal, Srinagar, as part of an investigation into alleged forgery of date-of-birth and educational qualification documents for a J&K Police appointment.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said that the Special Crime Wing Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K conducted a house search at Safakadal in connection with the investigation of Case FIR No. 10/2026, registered under Sections 420, 468 and 471 RPC. The search was carried out in compliance with a search warrant issued by the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate (PT&E), Srinagar.
He said the case pertains to allegations of appointment in the J&K Police Department through the submission of forged documents relating to date of birth and educational qualifications. As part of the ongoing investigation, the Special Crime Wing conducted a search at the residential premises of SG Ct. Manzoor Ahmad Najar at Safakadal, Srinagar.
The spokesperson said the search was conducted in accordance with due process of law. Further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
