Says three to four suspected foreigners hiding in the area; operation initiated last night following credible intelligence; massive search ongoing
A head constable of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed, while two other security personnel were injured as security forces continue their operation in the Mandli area of Kathua, where an encounter with terrorists is ongoing, according to ADGP Jammu.
Says about three to four terrorists, suspected to be foreigners, are hiding in the area, and the operation was initiated last night following credible intelligence.
According to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, Anand Jain, who was speaking to the media in as per the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), the operation was initiated last night following credible intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area.
He said, in the exchange of fire, Head Constable Bashir Ahmed was killed, and two other security personnel were injured. “ADGP Jain confirmed that the injured are stable and receiving medical care.”
He added that initial reports suggest that 3-4 terrorists, suspected to be foreigners, are hiding in the area. Search operations are still underway to neutralize the threat.
“The security forces are on high alert, especially with the third phase of elections underway in the region,” said ADGP Jain.
