Delhi airport to get full body scanners by may
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi will be the first in India to use full-body scanners and 3D CTX machines for cabin baggage checks starting from May 2024. Other airports, including the ones in Greater Noida and Navi Mumbai, will also have these machines when they open in about a year.
The CTX machines will eliminate the need to remove electronic devices and liquids from bags during security checks. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has extended the deadline for airports to install these hi-tech equipment due to supply chain constraints and capacity studies being conducted by airport operators
