Srinagar, Apr 01 The Crime Branch Kashmirโs Special Crime Wing on Wednesday said it has chargesheeted a Doda man for allegedly duping a job seeker on the pretext of arranging overseas employment, taking money and documents but failing to deliver the job.
In a statement issued to the news agencyโKashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the Special Crime Wing, Srinagar of Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet in case FIR No. 02/2025 under Sections 420 and 201 IPC against Farhat Abbas Malik S/o Din Mohammad Malik R/o Tendala, Tehsil Chilipingal, District Doda, before the Honโble Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar.
He said, the case came to light after a complaint was received from a person who was searching for a job abroad after losing his employment during the COVID-19 period.
โDuring this process, he came into contact with an office named โFly High Business Consultant,โ allegedly operated by the accused. The accused promised to arrange a well-paying job abroad and, on this pretext, convinced the complainant to pay a substantial amount of money and submit his original documents.
โDuring the investigation, it was established that the accused had cheated the complainant by making false promises of overseas employment. He neither arranged the job nor returned the money. Evidence further revealed that the accused had deliberately misled the complainant for wrongful financial gain.โ
The spokesperson said, during questioning, the accused admitted to receiving money from the complainant on the promise of arranging a job abroad but failed to fulfil the commitment. He also disclosed that the complainantโs original passport, an important document, has been lost.
He said, accordingly, section 201 IPC was added for disappearance of evidence. The accused was arrested during investigation. His bail was rejected by the Honโble Court and he is presently lodged in Central Jail Srinagar. The chargesheet has been filed before the competent court for judicial determination.โ
