ANTF Kashmir arrests drug peddler in Srinagar

April 10: Crime Branch Anti-Narcotics Task Force Kashmir continues its unwavering drive against narcotics trafficking by recovering Charas and arrest of 01 accused person at Abanshah Road Zainakote.
A specific input was received at Police Station Anti Narcotics Task Force Kashmir that a drug peddler namely Gulzar Sofi has acquired contraband as Charas and is going to sell the same to other drug peddlers at Abansha Road Zainakote Srinagar.
In this regard, case FIR No. 07/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Kashmir and investigation was set into motion.
During investigation and acting on the specific intelligence input, a dedicated team of ANTF Kashmir established a naka at Abanshah Road Zainakot HMT Srinagar and recovered approximately 0.397 Kg of Charas from the possession of Gulzar Ahmad Sofi son of Gh Ahmad Sofi resident of Zainakot HMT Srinagar who was apprehended on the spot and taken into custody.
Further investigation is underway to uncover the forward and backward linkages of the drug supply chain and to identify other individuals involved in the illicit trade.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force, J&K reiterates its firm commitment to intensify its crackdown against drug smuggling and dismantle the networks operating behind the narcotics trade. ANTF J&K remains steady in its mission to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
