MVD Bandipora conducts special Enforcement Drive; Focus on School Bus safety

BANDIPORA, APRIL 29: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Bandipora today conducted a special enforcement drive across the district on the directions of the Transport Commissioner and under the guidance of the ARTO Bandipora.
During the drive, a total of 85 vehicles were thoroughly inspected, out of which 12 vehicles were challaned under various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act for violations.
The enforcement drive laid special emphasis on school buses to ensure the safety and security of students. Several school buses were checked for compliance with safety norms, including valid documents, fitness, and prescribed standards.
Drivers of school buses were sensitized about the importance of adhering to traffic rules, maintaining discipline on roads, and exercising utmost caution while transporting children. They were also advised to strictly follow safety protocols to prevent any untoward incidents.
The department reiterated its commitment to ensuring road safety and stated that such drives will continue in the future to enforce traffic regulations and safeguard public interest, particularly the safety of school-going children.
